Presented in partnership with the University of Arkansas Juneteenth Committee, CCP, and Interform, Freedom Festival focus is elevating Black music and culture and bringing it to the forefront of NWA culture, this event is a family-friendly day full of celebration, music, food, and fun. Each year, thousands of people of all walks from NWA, River Valley, Tulsa, Little Rock, and beyond come to celebrate the spirit of Freedom through this holiday. Because of the amazing support from our community, board, and sponsors, Freedom Festival is a celebration with over $4,000 attendees.
Local nonprofit Music Moves invites the NWA community to celebrate Juneteenth with us in Downtown Springdale for the fourth year on June 15, 2024. Now a yearly tradition, Freedom Festival has grown to be the biggest Juneteenth celebration in the state of Arkansas. The celebration includes kid’s zone with games and activities, the community vendor market, fashion shows, and the a mainstage that’s featured artist like Montell Jordan, Morris Day, The Ohio Players, Yung Joc, Bone Thugs & Harmony, and more.
Anthony Ball, Music Moves VP and Program Director, says, “We’re excited to build off of a big 2023 turn out. We had so many collaborations in art, business, health-wellness, food, and education, and we are ready to continue that. Music Moves wanted to position our celebration as the largest Juneteenth Celebration in Arkansas, and we’ve done just that. We are expecting to hit 5k people this coming year. Get ready for the biggest party celebrating freedom, diversity, and expression.”
