Good News & The Blues Nov 9, 2023
Our published curriculum highlighting Black influence on musical genres has already reached classrooms in NWA, but Music Moves president Reginald James stressed the importance of doing more to assist teachers. “Teachers need help implementing this curriculum. We don’t want to just hand them a lesson plan and walk away – we want to be able to send a grad student into the classroom to help teach the material.” Music Moves plans to raise at least $50,000 and Good News & The Blues launches efforts to provide classroom assistance, curriculum updates, and performance opportunities during the 2024 season.
In order to bring the joy of music education to aspiring young musicians and artists, our initiative is actively seeking financial support. Music has the power to inspire, educate, and transform lives, and we are dedicated to providing quality instruction, performance space and resources to those who may not have access otherwise. By contributing to our cause, you’re not just investing in music; you’re investing in the future of countless talented individuals who will carry the artistic impression of music with them throughout their lives. Your generous donations will help us purchase instruments, hire experienced instructors, and create an enriching environment where the love for music can flourish. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of young musicians and educators while nurturing their passion for the Black diaspora of art and music.
