Our Hip Hop artist this week is Yung Bay. Yung Bay was born and raised in McGehee, muddy Southeast Arkansas, and is the youngest of three. With early tragedies of losing his father and brother, he turned to the streets. While being in music behind the scenes, it wasn’t until 2010 that Yung picked up the mic, connected with the Villeboys (Mitchellville, Arkansas), and became a member of Murksquad. Influenced by artists like Gucci Mane, Pimp C, Big Krit, Boosie, and Rick Ross, Yung hit the ground running with the breakout song “Who Got it”. After a three year hiatus and more life-altering events, Yung decided to give it another try with a different mindset, dropping his first single “FlavaLikeDis” off his Debut album “TripleRLife”. Yung Bay is in a lane of his own! With a mixture of deep Southern Baptist, the Trap life, and other rap influences, he is a rare breed. Buckle up and get ready for an intense lyrical journey.
